Charity Auctions – own Kyle Petty’s Victory Bike

I have just started surfing around eBay’s Charity auctions – and find that some quite big names are using eBay to generate money for their favorite charities. ….. and there’s some pretty amazing stuff coming up for auction in the name of a good cause.

For instance – well, you could bid to own Kyle Petty’s Victory Bike – the auction is for

Kyle Petty’s own 2006 Victory motorcycle, valued at over $15,000 and driven in the 2007 Ride Across America Charity RIde.

In addition, the winner will receive one core rider position on the 15th Anniversary Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America in 2009, valued at over $13,000.

That is quite amazing. It would also allow someone to take advantage of a huge PR opportunity to be featured in the press as you take part in the Charity Ride across American in 2009. This auction seems to offer hidden benefits which could far outweigh whatever you pay for the bike.

Because of the potentially very high sale price, there are some stringent terms and conditions in the auction – so, if you think you’re going to be bidding for this amazing opportunity, I recommend that you start planning straight away. You must read the auction for details, but here are some essentials:

  1. You must be registered with eBay -
  2. Winning bidder must be at least 18 years of age. Winning bidder is responsible for their own travel, accommodations and meals that may take place during the pick up.
  3. Bidding above $10,000 must be Pre-Qualified
  4. Only legal residents of the United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) are eligible to bid on this particular auction.
  5. The winning bidder or their designee is responsible for paying all fees associated with tax, transfer of title, and registration according to their own state’s requirements. Fees will be collected at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Tax will be based on the final bid amount.

There’s a full description of this auction on the web site – but, like I say, for some lucky winner, this could be the ticket to the opportunity of a lifetime.
